S.A.F.E
SAFE operates three choice food pantries in Alamance County. A choice food pantry is set up to resemble a small grocery store and allows individuals and families to shop for the food they want, empowering families to choose items based on their needs and preferences.

Southern Alamance Family Empowerment (SAFE) located at 5950 HWY 87 S, Graham, opened its doors on May 21, 2013. SAFE’s Board is made up of local residents and churches. The organization’s goal is to strengthen families in Southern Alamance County by providing food assistance. Interaction between recipients and volunteers builds relationships that help to identify family’s needs beyond food. To that end, SAFE is currently working in collaboration with Burlington’s Open Door Clinic, to set up a health care referral service for people with health needs and no insurance.

All of the support that SAFE receives comes from individual donations, churches and businesses. Financial donations as well as food are welcomed. For more information about SAFE and how you can help, go to www.safealamance.org.

A Good Rule of Thumb: Donate foods you would love to receive
